Akira Senju - Akatsuki/Jinchuuriki

Childhood Arc – Akira Senju was born in an area in the vacinity of Konohagakure. He lived with his Mother and Grandfather, his Father having died shortly after his birth. He died using the Hakke no Fuuin Shiki in conjunction with the Shiki Fuujin technique to seal the Kyuubi demon within the stomach of Akira. The Hakke no Fuuin Shiki allows the two Shishou Fuuin to leak the Kyuubi chakra back into Akira’s own chakra. The seal is placed on the back of Akira’s neck, with the seal of the Senju in the middle of the symbol creating a Fuuinjutsu unique to Akira’s father. The Senju were well known for their ability to control bijuu at the height of their powers, and Akira’s father sacrificed his life to create a seal that would allow Akira great control over the Kyuubi when his powers matured as a shinobi. The early years of his life were blissful, until the spring of his 2nd year when his Grandfather passed away and he tasted sadness for the first time. Soon thereafter Akira and his Mother began wander away from Konoha, having no ties to their prior location to keep them there any longer. Akira’s Mother was slowly succumbing to tuberculosis, a disease she had been battling since shortly after she gave birth. As they neared the border of the Land of Fire, Akira’s mother stumbled and couldn’t stand back up. She tried her best to remain strong for Akira, who was only 3 at the time, but she was far too weak and her condition quickly deteriorated. She passed away half an hour after she fell, and Akira sat quietly waiting for his mother to wake up though she never would. The next day an old rouge ninja formerly of Konoha came across Akira and his deceased mother and took the confused toddler with him back to his home in the mountains surrounding Konoha.

Training Arc – The old man, who was called Zorin, was confused as to what to do with Akira. He was unsure that is until the day he gave Akira a bath and saw the symbol of the Senju tattooed on the back of his neck inside the seal. Shortly after he began to teach Akira the basics of controlling chakra at the tender age of 4. Akira almost instinctively took to the training and progressed quite rapidly. As a young Jinchuuriki he was able to utilize the chakra of the Kyuubi inside him to perform training and jutsu far beyond what a normal child of his age would be capable. At first the old man didn’t reveal the beast hidden inside of him, but as his training progressed he found it necessary if they were to harness the potential of the bijuu. They trained tirelessly to increase Akira’s control over the flow of the Kyuubi’s chakra into his own, eventually coming to control it quite masterfully all things considering. Once he could control his chakra effectively at will, Akira was introduced to the world of Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu. Although he was becoming increasingly proficient at all of them, he took especially to Ninjutsu. By the age of 9, Akira had begun extensive training into Earth style Ninjutsu, as well as Taijutsu combat and stamina training. Every morning he would wake up and run 2 miles with weights on to “Awaken his mind” as Zorin put it. They would then meditate for a time to allow his body to recuperate from the run. Then they would spend the remainder of the day polishing his technique and control. Things remained this way in regular fashion until Akira’s 11th year when Zorin became ill. He was a very old man so the decline in his health was of no surprise. Within the month Zorin passed away. Before he did, he told Akira to return to Konoha, as it was the original home of his clan and family. He then told Akira the short version of a very long story of how the Senju clan used to be a prominent figure of days past. They once resided peacefully within Konoha, and that is where he should return for it was truly his home. Akira soon thereafter returned to Konoha and was taken in kindly by a family who had lost their own son on assignment from the village.

Academy Arc – Akira enrolled at the Academy soon after coming to Konoha. He was very quiet and observant during the lessons and rarely offered an answer to questions the instructors posed to the class. This caused many of Akira’s classmates to peg him as stupid or slow. Akira however was far from both of these things as he was processing every piece of information that the instructors threw out. His mind was a sponge for the knowledge, which would soon become apparent to his classmates as he received higher scores than the vast majority of his peers. He was considered a child prodigy, showing promise and abilities far beyond his years. Needless to say, Akira didn’t make many friends in the academy. For the duration, he sat quietly in the back of the room soaking up lessons, counting down the days to his graduation and promotion to Genin. In his mind, he was awaiting this day when he could actually begin to make something out of his otherwise meaningless life. Up until enrollment in the academy, Akira hadn’t really thought of his purpose or goals for the future and now he had one. His goal was to not only rise in the ranks of Konoha’s finest ninja, but to become a master of Ninjutsu. His progression into his own training prior to enrolling at the academy was also seen. While most of the students were clumsily stumbling through the basics, Akira had already become quite skilled in Ninjutsu, as well as Taijutsu and Genjutsu. Then came the day of graduation for all students deemed worthy of passing the Academy. Akira was now a young man of 13, and was about to begin on the path to his goals.

Genin Arc – After graduation, Akira was put into a squad with two other Genin, under the supervision of Mitsuda Takayanagi. Mitsuda was a Jounin and was to become the Sensei to the three Genin. The other two Genin in the squad was Nobuhida Shizuma who specialized in Genjutsu, and Kei Kurugi who was considered just as promising as Akira in all aspects. Akira found a friend in Kei for the first time in his life, and he began to train along side him as they set out to advance as shinobi. Although Nobuhida pretended to be disinterested in the bond forming between Kei and Akira, he desperately wanted the same attention that Akira gave Kei. Nobuhida admired Akira above all others, and began to grow extremely jealous of Kei. The team began to go on random missions in other countries, traveling the world and learning whatever they could to better themselves. The difference in power between Akira and Kei to Nobuhida was becoming more and more apparent with each passing mission, they often completed the task without even needing his assistance. After they had completed several missions, Mitsuda recommended them for the Chuunin Exams. As the exams began, they easily passed the early portions. All three of the squad advanced to the round of fights, which would signify the final stage of the Chuunin Exams. Akira soundly defeated his opponents in the first two rounds; Kei defeated Nobuhida in the semifinal round to make the final match Akira vs. Kei. The battle was fierce and both competitors gave it everything they had, but in the end Kei was determined the victor. Akira had in fact not used his full ability, refusing to use the unfair advantage of the Kyuubi against his best friend. They were both however granted the rank of Chuunin for the outstanding display of ability that the entire stadium had witnessed.

Chuunin Arc – After completion of the Chuunin Exams, Kei and Akira were removed from the squad with Nobuhida, much to his dismay. They were considered the future of Konoha as far as their raw potential, and were sent on increasingly difficult and dangerous missions. Kei began to study his Mokuton even further, attempting to refine his technique and control. They were quickly rising in the ranks of the shinobi of Konoha and were both sent on an S-ranked mission to quell a rebellion that was rising up against Konoha. In the ensuing conflict, Kei and Akira both showed incredible skill. They destroyed the opposing shinobi as they had been told, and did so with a speed and efficiency not seen in some time. Akira had begun to gain control over the Kyuubi, the enhanced seal on his neck allowed him stability in the release of the demon’s chakra. They were both promoted to Jounin shortly after the conflict, three former Jounin having died in the battle due to the sacrifice of an opposing soldier.

Jounin Arc – Akira’s promotion to Jounin was short lived, Nobuhida bringing it to an abrupt end. One day as the boys trained rigorously Nobuhida approached them with a slight smile on his face. He was still a Genin, however they still kept in contact with one another as the years passed. Nobuhida asked the boys if he could spar and train with them, but Kei replied nastily that they didn’t have time to teach him how to keep up with them. All of the previous hatred and jealousy that Nobuhida had bottled up for Kei in the past exploded as he released a forbidden Genjutsu of his clan upon Kei. The Genjutsu was forbidden because it caused almost certain death to the target, destroying their mind and leaving their body dead from the inside out. If the target did not die, they would surely never be the same again. Nobuhida smiled maniacally as he started laughing. The Anbu who had been patrolling the area quickly stepped in and took Nobuhida away without saying a word to Akira, leaving him and Kei there in the woods. Akira quickly grabbed Kei and rushed him to the Hokage, hoping that the Genjutsu could be reversed and his friend saved. The Hokage told Akira that the Genjutsu placed on Kei was forbidden and for good reason, it was irreversible and unfortunately Kei would never be able to return to his shinobi way. He also told Akira that Nobuhida would no longer be able to do this to anyone again, the Anbu having taken him and confined him outside of the village in a small camp. After leaving the Hokage’s office, Akira headed towards the camp with such a bloodlust that he had lost his sense of self. He allowed the Kyuubi to take control of his body and he set a blistering pace into the heart of the camp. In a rage he entered the camp, killing anyone who stood in his way as he approached Nobuhida. The chakra of the Kyuubi had began to intertwine with his own more potently as he annihilated everything within the walls of that camp. As he approached Nobuhida he killed him while he slept with no remorse for his actions. He had entered into that day as a Jounin of Konohagakure, but he would surely not leave it as such.

Missing-Nin and Akatsuki Arc – After his obliteration of the camp outside of Konoha, Akira began walking back towards the entrance to the camp. He had calmed somewhat from before and was no longer under the control of the bijuu within him, regaining his composure and walking out of the front gates. He stopped cold in his tracks as he felt eyes bearing down on him, and he turned to find someone in a black cloak with red clouds looking in his direction. He was unsure if the person had seen what he had done, but he didn’t intend to find out. He turned and began to run back through the mountain pass, which led out towards the boundary of the Land of Fire, but the man appeared suddenly in front of him. He explained that he had in fact seen him unleash the power of the Kyuubi on the camp, and invited him to join a group known as Akatsuki to further foster his growth as a Shinobi as only they could. Akira reluctantly accepted the man’s offer, having nothing left to return to in Konoha. After the actions he took on that day and his known ability, the Hokage labeled Akira an S Ranked Missing-Nin. He however did not find that title fit him, he much preferred to be called by another title, Akatsuki.

Akira walked slowly towards his opponent. The old man Zorin was standing readied for battle, his strength and physique quite opposite to the normal for his age. Akira moved rhythmically back and forth as the fragile grass broke under his feet. It was the early morning and the air was filled with the scent of the morning dew. Akira breathed out slowly, his breath visible in the chilly morning air. He took off suddenly for Zorin, his momentum and speed growing with each passing step. Akira attempted to use Shunshin to attack Zorin from behind, but due to his inability to control it at times, he did so in a sloppy manner. As he appeared behind Zorin, he hesitated for a moment before swinging wildly at the man.

“Is that really the best you can do?” Zorin said without flinching. He grabbed Akira’s hand without needing to turn around and flung him over his shoulder, sending the boy reeling backward towards a tree across the clearing. He jumped to his feet quickly, trying to mask the pain that shot through his temple on impact. He looked across the grassy field at Zorin, wondering in his mind why he could never seem to land a hit on the old man.

“You are wondering how I managed to stop that attack so easily?” Zorin said as he closed his eyes, “In the instance you reappeared behind me you showed hesitation, hesitation will almost always result in failure. You must commit fully to your actions and be decisive in them, remember this.” When he opened his eyes Akira was no longer standing at the base of the tree and he looked around puzzled slightly. Akira threw a small pebble at Zorin’s forehead, hitting him dead on as he leaped down from the branches of another nearby tree.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t you tell me to always keep my eyes on my opponent?” Akira said while smirking. Zorin smiled and walked over to Akira, messing up his hair as he replied, “I did say that didn’t I? There may be hope for you yet boy. Come, let us return home I think you’ve learned a quite valuable lesson already today.” With that the two of them returned home and thus concluded another day of training.

Description: Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master chakra focusing. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. This makes Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added.

It is possible to capture the enemy with these branches and at the same time, if one changes the ends into sharp stakes, turn them into countless, sharp, spear-like piercing weapons.

Description: An extremely versatile move, this technique uses chakra to activate the roots in the ground and, using the user as a reference point, makes wooden pillars appear from left and right. The wooden pillars join together in a dome-shape with the user at the center. This process can be used to catch the enemy in a double sided attack. Also, in case one confronts the enemy at a short distance, the enemy can be locked up inside the dome, setting the situation for a one-on-one fight. This dome can also be collapsed or burnt with the enemy inside causing damage. Furthermore, it functions as an easy shelter against the enemy's long-distance attacks, like shuriken and kunai.

Description: Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu is an advanced variation of the Kage Bunshin Ninjutsu technique which was banned by the First Hokage. This has not stopped many Jounin-level ninja from learning the technique however. Instead of creating several clones, several hundred clones are created. Like normal Kage Bunshin a ninja's chakra is split evenly among the clones when created.

The clones themselves can utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clones finally disperse, any new knowledge they have gained is passed back to the original ninja and to any additional clones. This makes Tajuu Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added. With the great number of clones in Tajuu Kage Bunshin, the ninja can effectively learn in a few weeks with a hundred clones what would take one ninja numerous years.

Description: Kuchiyose • Edo Tensei is a Ninjutsu technique which had been forbidden because of its dark nature. The technique involves the summoning of dead souls from the afterlife back into the real world. Normally Kuchiyose (summoning) involves the use of the caster's blood as compensation for summoning, Edo Tensei is different though. The ninja will first sacrifice a living person to provide the vessel that the dead soul will inhabit. The dead body will then be incased in ash and dirt to resemble the soul of the person that was resurrected. When the ninja wishes to recall the souls, a portal will open in the ground and the caskets holding the bodies will appear. When the caskets open the bodies will be gray and in a state of minor decay. At this point the dead souls are able to remember their past life, but they are at the command of the one who summoned them. One final act will fully wipe out their conscious and make them under the command of the one who summoned them. The ninja will place a fuda (charm/tag) of some form into the head of the body. This will then give vitality back to the body and make it a pure killing machine.

When a portion of the dead body is damaged, the ash and dust will merely return and fix the damaged body part. The only way currently known to stop the resurrected person is to utilize the Shiki Fuujin technique and remove the soul from the body.
